Scholarship & Recognition
Each year, the Ann Arbor Alumnae Chapter distributes thousands of dollars in college scholarships and monetary awards to deserving students in Washtenaw County. These young women and men are celebrated every year during the Chapter's annual Solid Gold in Education event.
Solid Gold Awards
Solid Gold awards are our way of acknowledging and recognizing middle students in the Ann Arbor–Ypsilanti area who have made a difference in their schools and in their communities as a whole. These students are selected by either the principal, counselor and or teacher based on overall improvement in academic performance and/or citizenship.
Students must be nominated by school counselors or administrators, therefore applications for this award are not made directly available to students.
Scholarships
College scholarships are also provided annually to young women who have excelled academically and made contributions to their school & communities. Requirements include a minimum grade point average of 2.75, demonstrated leadership abilities & community service, participation in extra-curricular activities and an essay.
We also award two annual book scholarships to deserving female students matriculating at Washtenaw Community College.
